Warwick Senior High School commenced in 1981, and has a highly dedicated and committed staff with many years of teaching experience. The school curriculum caters for a wide range of students coming from the local primary schools and schools outside the boundary. Students are attracted to the special academic, arts and sporting programs offered at Warwick SHS.

The school environment is highly conducive to learning. being set in 1.5 hectares of natural bushland, with quality, attractive, well appointed buildings that blend with the natural environment. The majority of teaching blocks are based on an open campus plan, allowing flexibility of lesson delivery and utilisation of a variety of teaching methods by staff. The school is equipped with modern facilities including: a gymnasium, tennis, netball and basketball courts, extensive playing fields, Performing Arts Centre, open air amphitheatre and a swimming pool.

With such attractive physical features and progressive educational programs, Warwick SHS offers its students high quality programs founded on quality relationships and pastoral care.

The school currently has 868 students from Years 8 to Year 12. The Student Services team supports the teaching staff by attending to the social and emotional needs of students. This ensures the holistic development of each child. Student Service staff include a School Psychologist (referred to as the School Counsellor), School Nurse, Year Coordinators (one per year group), a Chaplain, and the Associate Principals. A new position of Year 8 Student Services Manager focuses on assisting students in the smooth transition from Year 7(primary) to Year 8 (secondary) schooling.

To assist in student use of information technology, the school is fully networked and has 350 computers housed in four computing laboratories and in all learning areas. Most of the school buildings are air-cooled.

QTS for teachers qualified in Aus. and NZ

The Department for Education have now confirmed that as of April 1st 2012, teachers whom have qualified in Australia and New Zealand will now be recognised as qualified teachers and awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England without being required to undertake any further training or assessment.

As well as being eligible to work in the UK, overseas trained teachers (OTTs) will need to have a fully recognised teaching qualification and, in some instances, registration from their country of origin. Teachers can apply for UK Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) by completing the following form:
