MINDARIE Senior College has sweeping ocean views and is located 39km north of the city of Perth in the northern coastal corridor. It is one of the new type of Senior Colleges established specifically for students in Years 11 and 12. Mindarie is a new, fast-growing suburb attracting residents to its coastal location and high quality community facilities.

The college opened in 2003 and now has around 600 students. Flexible operating hours, outside the normal 9am to 3.30pm timetable offer students an ability to experience learning through placements at Universities, Technical and Further Education Centres (TAFE), community organisations or in the workforce.

In addition to a comprehensive choice of courses for those aiming for university and TAFE it also specialises in the Arts (including television performance and production), fitness and health studies. Technology is an integral part of all courses enabling students to access their courses on-line throughout the college.

Mindarie Senior College welcomes parent and community contribution to college life, both on a formal and informal basis. Numerous community partnerships offer students the opportunities for real-life learning, enabling them to be engaged in relevant and meaningful experiences.

The college facilities generate a warm, welcoming and modern environment that is well suited to young adults and which foster and promote flexible learning approaches. The modern facilities include an Arts Centre with Performing Arts area, multimedia centre with television and music recording studios and a Visual Arts section with ceramics and painting studios. Other facilities include an auditorium with digital projection facilities, library information centre, computing and science laboratories, food preparation and design and technology areas.

There is a modern fitness centre with weights, exercise equipment and an aerobics floor. The college cafe provides a wide selection of hot and cold food and beverages with indoor and outdoor seating.

The college's success is due to the focus on providing a safe and happy environment that caters for the needs of young adult students. The values of the college reflect those of the family, with a strong mentor system to care for and provide positive guidance to the students as individuals.

What the college is able to provide for students has proven to be extremely popular. The strongest praise comes from the students themselves and the academic and social outcomes that they achieve whilst at Mindarie Senior College.
