Pemberton District High School has established a tradition of providing quality education tailored to meet the needs of the Pemberton Community.
Pemberton DHS has beautiful rammed brick buildings located among the natural Karri Tree Forest in the Warren Blackwood Education District. Pemberton DHS caters for the education of children from Kindergarten to Year Ten. Priding itself on catering for the individual students needs, classroom sizes are kept to a minimum with an excellent teacher/ student ratio. PDHS is currently enrolling students in Year 11 who are on individual pathways and whose needs are best met in a smaller, caring environment.
The school has been recognised state wide for a number of its innovative approaches to teaching and learning. In 2004 and 2005 it was the winner of the Warren Blackwood District Excellence Awards in the Best Learning Environment Category. Pemberton is renowned for its whole school approaches to the Teaching of Philosophy for Children, Social Skills, Learning Technologies and Multi-age Literacy Programs. The school has also been given the highest rating possible of 'Highly Effective' in the State Education System's annual reviews. Recently Pemberton DHS has also been recognised for its work in the area of boys in education which is now a school focus area.
With a clear school vision statement created by the whole school community, Pemberton DHS has a team of staff who are committed to high professional ideals. Four teachers at Pemberton DHS have been recognised by the community through nominations and winning of their District Rounds in the Premiers Teacher of the Year Awards. It is not surprising that the performance of students in the school is high.
