Albany Senior High School has a long and proud tradition of high academic achievement, sporting excellence and a comprehensive cultural life in the school. The school forms an integral part of the fabric of Albany and together we celebrate our students' many achievements. The community highly values the school's contribution to the many young people in its care.
The school was opened in 1918 and it moved onto its present site in 1924. The school is situated on the northern side of Mt Clarence, close to the Albany town centre, and we enjoy sweeping panoramic views towards the Porongorup and Stirling Ranges.
Our students are happy, friendly, hardworking and are prepared to be involved in a range of academic, cultural and sporting pursuits.
Students regularly win awards for academic, vocational and sporting achievements. Albany Senior High School has been the State Countryweek Champion School for five consecutive years from 2000 to 2004.
Year 12 Prefects are elected to represent the student body and assist with extra curricular activities and also play an active leadership role in a number of areas within the school.
