Maribyrnong Secondary College is a single campus, co-educational years 7-12 college with a strong extensive welfare structure to ensure success in learning for all its students. The college promotes and works towards academic success, a positive, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, valuing the impact of different ethnic groups and fostering equal opportunity for all members of the college community.

The college offers students a range of opportunities, so that they can reach their maximum potential academically and as individuals. We are big enough to provide a range of educational choices, but small enough to know our students as individual young people and offer them well established support structures. We have a strong commitment to improving students' literacy and numeracy, and run a corrective reading program and numeracy support. We are firmly committed to educational initiatives such as the Middle Years Research and Development and Middle Years Reform programs, and the Managed Individual Pathways program and we are establishing an Advocacy program to enable all Year 10 students to have an individual advocate to assist them in planning for their future study and employment.

Maribyrnong Secondary College is located within the City of Maribyrnong, and largely serves the areas of Maribyrnong, Footscray, Flemington and Ascot Vale.

Students come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds; 66% of our students were born overseas in one of 32 different countries.

Our charter goals include:
* To provide a challenging program for all 7-12 students.
* To provide a supportive and safe teaching and learning environment that maximises student achievement, fosters self-respect, tolerance and consideration for others in the community and is conducive to each student becoming an independent and responsive learner.
* To provide a broad VCE and VETIS program which fosters high levels of achievement and retention in VCE and an increased emphasis on vocational education and training.
