Brief Profile Of Mount Eliza Secondary College

In years 7 to 10, students undertake a curriculum which consists of core subjects within a structure based on the eight key learning areas. Students are then allowed increasing curriculum choice from electives in years 9, 10 and the VCE. The College offers the opportunity for students to accelerate their programs by undertaking some VCE Unit 1 and 2 studies in year 10, Unit 3 and 4 studies in year 11, and this is expected to lead to some year 12 students undertaking university studies.

Students achieve outstanding results in the VCE and a highly successful record of entry into tertiary courses. The College has an enviable record of sporting achievements and many students reach state and regional level representative teams.

The College is fortunate to have spacious and well equipped permanent facilities. Specialist facilities include: a well resourced library, an impressive gymnasium and drama complex, and an extensive range of rooms for the Creative Arts programs.

Students enjoy the services provided by the cafeteria which include under cover seating for up to 200. VCE students have access to a locally designed and built Study Centre.

The College Council, its committees and working parties, other representative parent bodies, the Student Council, and the staff all contribute to College policy and planning through consultative and defined decision making processes.
