Kooweerup Secondary College is a small  but try to cater for a wide range of abilities and interests. We have a friendly atmosphere and our staff get to know the students well so that they can help them personally as well as academically.

Our curriculum is varied. All Year 7 students take classes in English, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, Health, Geography, History, Italian, Art and Technology subjects. In Year 8 students can select which Art and Technology subjects they take. In Year 9 and 10 students gain an extra subject choice and can start taking VCE subjects in Year 10. In Year 11 and 12 students take VCE and VET subjects.

Students are supported by staff and other students through the Peer Support Program (Year 10's helping Year 7's to settle in), Peer Mediation (trained senior students mediate between students involved in minor squabbles), the SRC, and The Student Welfare Co-ordinator.

From 2002 the College will be running a Selected Entry Accelerated Learning Program.

The academic curriculum is balanced with cultural and sporting co-curricular programs. The college has four bands which perform regularly. For the first time the marching band played in the 2001 Anzac Day March in Melbourne. A Music Festival has been running for more that 30 years and each year there is a Full College Musical Production. Student art has developed a number of painted and mosaic murals in the College and on the Kooweerup Federation Clock Tower.

The College has an enviable sporting record. The co-curricular activities promote teamwork, good student teacher relationships and a positive attitude.

Our staff and students enjoy the challenges, friendships and rewards of being an excellent school.
