Numurkah Secondary College (pop. 400) is a Year 7-12 co-educational College situated approximately 30 km north of Shepparton in the midst of a diverse irrigation farming area. The school draws its students from the town of Numurkah (pop. 3,100) and the surrounding district bounded by the Murray River in the north, Waaia in the west, Wunghnu and Invergordon to the south and Katamatite in the east. Approximately two-thirds of the students travel to the College by bus from these neighboring towns and farming areas.
The essence of the College's philosophy is to provide a caring co-operative environment where each student has the opportunity and encouragement to reach his or her full potential.
Numurkah Secondary College was built in 1957 and is a mixture of brick and light timber construction. A nine room technical wing of brick veneer was built in 1973 to provide specialist facilities. A new Science wing was completed in 2003. Tthe Gymnasium and Art wing are were completed in September 2005.
