Tamborine Mountain SHS is a new school opened in 1999 with a student population of approximately 150 Year 8 and Year 9 students. In May 1999, when Premier Beattie officially opened the school it was announced that the school will move into the senior area in 2001.

The school was an annex of Helensvale State High School, which is a large secondary school some 45 minutes away. However in 2001 the school was given independence and began life as a fully fledged high School . The daily administration of the school processes and outcomes are the responsibility of the Administration Team ( A principal and two deputies)  and the Heads of Department who are located on the site.

The Tamborine community has a strong and passionate ownership of the school and collectively aspire to an exceptional performance level for their students. Our school is well resourced, technologically sophisticated and in the culture building phase of its development.
