Stretton State College has been constructed to service the developing needs of the Drewvale/Stretton/Parkinson/Calamvale areas providing an initial education facility for Prep 7 students that will later expand to P-12. Rapid residential growth in these suburbs means that careful management of student enrolments is required.

The school is situated on the corner of Gowan and Illaweena Road Stretton. Quality educational facilities are being provided to cater for the increasing population growth in this area. In 2006, it will open with P-7. In 2007, Years 8 and 9 will be introduced with an additional year level added each year until 2010 when it will provide education across the full P-12 range. The building program will be progressed to accommodate the anticipated enrolment growth as the school expands. The school will relieve some of the enrolment pressures on Calamvale Community College.
