The year prior to the official opening of the School on the 10th of September 1918 enrolment numbers were limited to 33. After the opening of the school many people from properties saw the school as a great learning doorway for their children. Steadily the enrolments began to rise and with this problems grew in the areas of finding accommodation for the head teacher and staff, recruiting teachers, dealing with insufficient buildings for the number of students. Eventually the new Principals house was built in 1927 and it still stands today.

The school started to advance as the years went by and in 1966 the secondary department was formed under the instruction of one staff member. On the 4th of April 1981 the Early Childcare Centre was opened.

All students from Preschool to Year 10 work a High School style timetable across the Key learning areas (KLA's) of Technology (Industrial Design & Technology, Home Ec, Computers), English, Mathematics, Arts, Science, H.P.E, and S.O.S.E.

Many improvements and extensions have been made to the School including a manual arts room, computer laboratory containing 21 computers and much more. Every general classroom in the school contains four computers and all of these have Internet access.

The school is still and will continue to advance into modern technologies and inventions. Furthermore, being out in the outback in the extreme weather conditions the school is completely air-conditioned.
