Since opening in 1992, Beerwah State High School has built a reputation as a safe, caring and supportive school and is recognised across the Sunshine Coast as a leader in secondary schooling.

Beerwah High offers a broad general education in our middle school during Years 8 and 9, leading into the multiple pathways provided for in our senior school through Years 10, 11 and 12. Comprehensive academic, vocational, artistic and sporting programs are provided. A specialist Athletics Excellence Program and specialist Music Excellence Program are both available in Year 8, 9 and 10. Beerwah State High School is also a member of the Glass House Coalition of State Schools.

Beerwah State High School has 1000 students in Years 8 to 12 and services the townships and surrounding areas of Beerwah, Beerburrum, Elimbah, Glass House Mountains, Peachester, Landsborough and Mooloolah in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Beerwah State High School is located on Roberts Road in the township of Beerwah, approximately 25 kilometres inland from Caloundra. The town is located on the main railway line from Brisbane to Cairns and is a part of the Caloundra City local government authority.

QTS for teachers qualified in Aus. and NZ

The Department for Education have now confirmed that as of April 1st 2012, teachers whom have qualified in Australia and New Zealand will now be recognised as qualified teachers and awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England without being required to undertake any further training or assessment.

As well as being eligible to work in the UK, overseas trained teachers (OTTs) will need to have a fully recognised teaching qualification and, in some instances, registration from their country of origin. Teachers can apply for UK Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) by completing the following form:
