Maroochydore State High School is one of the largest Co-Education Secondary State Schools on the Sunshine Coast, with close to 1400 enrolments. Maroochydore State High School offers Year levels 8 - 12. Since its establishment in 1964, the school has successfully accomplished the provision of extensive resources and facilities, and proudly caters for young adolescents, nurturing them towards their goals, independence, self-confidence and future careers. The School Motto is 'To Strive and To Serve' and the School Ethos is one of 'Learning in a Safe, Respectful Environment.'

In curricular and extra-curricular programs, there is a strong emphasis on the development of students in the areas of self-management and self-discipline. There is a focus by staff on developing the skills of living and working together, making informed choices, reaching informed decisions, resolving differences of opinion through tolerance and negotiation. The school’s staffing profile is a mix of experience and expertise with many staff choosing to remain teaching at our school for more than ten years. QTS for teachers qualified in Aus. and NZ

The Department for Education have now confirmed that as of April 1st 2012, teachers whom have qualified in Australia and New Zealand will now be recognised as qualified teachers and awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England without being required to undertake any further training or assessment.

As well as being eligible to work in the UK, overseas trained teachers (OTTs) will need to have a fully recognised teaching qualification and, in some instances, registration from their country of origin. Teachers can apply for UK Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) by completing the following form:
