At its inception, the school had as its guiding vision the provision of a comprehensive, innovative curriculum, supported by a broad-ranging welfare program, centred around its Pastoral Care program.

As a beginning school, strenuous efforts were made to involve the community in planning and decision-making forums. Now in its tenth year, the school has continued to build on these solid foundations. School-wide literacy programs, vertical courses in Stage 5, a strong program of vocational education in Stage 6 are recent curriculum changes which support student learning and diversity of student choice.

The reinvigorated Student Welfare Policy, based on a levels system, has given a clearer focus for parents, students and teachers concerning students' rights and responsibilities, and school and community expectations of a safe and productive learning environment.

The school's merit scheme ensures regular student success in all aspects of school life. The SRC is the main forum for student leadership, providing intensive training and frequent representational opportunities for student leaders. As we enter a second decade, the focus remains a real and diverse curriculum for all students in our local community, supported by a vigorous and wide-ranging welfare program.

Through formal meetings, parent representation and the key decision-making bodies, and our expanded and lively monthly newsletter, parents are invited and encouraged to be active partners in their children's learning.
