Sir Joseph Banks High School is a comprehensive co-educational community school established in 1960. We focus on learning and the school provides quality education through a diverse curriculum for both mainstream and support class students.

Our strong student management and welfare systems promote a safe and peaceful environment. Students are encouraged to respect each other as they work co-operatively to meet the school's high expectations. We challenge students to achieve personal success.

We expect students to gain knowledge, understanding and skills to enable them to contribute positively to our society.

Over the past three years, this school has implemented significant changes. Teachers, administration and support staff have worked closely with students, parents and caregivers.

Our success and continuing commitment to improvement is reflected in many areas including improved academic results, increased vocational opportunities, greater student and community involvement, increased Year 7 enrolments, and our enhanced reputation in the community.
