At Harristown, all of us are guided by the words, ‘If you can dream it; you can do it!’ – the words Walter Elias Disney used when he opened Disneyland in 1955, the year Harristown opened.

Over more than fifty years now, students at Harristown have received their grounding in life at the school, which prepares students for further education, for work and for a life in the community they choose to live in.

The journey you take at Harristown will not be easy; it will be fraught with new experiences, challenges and things to engage your body and mind. Our goal is to make you all that you can be.

An education at Harristown will involve risk-taking as well as challenge, because we understand that if you never take a risk then you will never know what you can do. On the other hand, the educational experience at Harristown is outcomes-oriented and success-oriented; we are more interested in reporting to you and your family about the things you can do than on telling you what you cannot.

Our school embraces the power of many – its parents, staff and students – in pursuit of the same goal – excellence. We invite you to join us at Harristown – one of only three Queensland schools accredited by the Council of International Schools whose standards are regarded as the most rigorous test of school effectiveness in the world.
